TechStars Names NYC Head
Boulder-based startup accelerator TechStars has finally set a new head of its New York City program, five months after former director David Tisch stepped down from the position. TechStars said this morning that it has named Eugene Chung as Managing Director of its NYC program. Chung joins from venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates, where TechStars said he was involved in NYC are investments in such companies as BuzzFeed and Bedrocket. Chung also has served at Pixar Animation Studios, Warburg PIncus, and Morgan Stanley. TechStars said it interviewed 35 candidates for the position. TechStars, which started in Boulder, has grown immensely over the past few years, and now operates programs in Boston, New York, Seattle, as well as special programs in Texas (cloud), Seattle (Microsoft), and Portland (Nike).
