TechStars Taps Ari Newman For Network Enabler Role
Startup accelerator TechStars said last night that it has tapped former Filtrbox founder Ari Newman as a full time "network catalyst" for the accelerator. Newman--who started Filtrbox in 2007 at TechStars, and eventually sold it to Jive in 2010--will focus on helping to leverage TechStars' multi-location network of companies, by introducing companies and alumni to each other. Newman said he would be "acting as conduit and enabler" for the accelerator's network of entrepreneurs, mentors, and investors. Newman was part of TechStars when it was just the single Boulder location; it now has programs running also in Boston, New York City, Seattle, and San Antonio, not to mention dozens of affiliated accelerators using TechStars as a template for their own efforts.
