Rally Launches Research Effort
Boulder, Colorado-based Agile software development firm Rally announced today that it is supporting a research effort to quantify the development process and performance impact of Agile practices, in a deal with the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. Rally said it will work with representatives from "leading software development organizations" and CMU to create the Software Development Performance Index, which will help measure what kinds of processes and technology help the performance of software development teams. Rally explained that organizations participating in its index will get access to dashboards, scorecards, and benchmarks based on the research.
