TechStars Powers New Windows Azure Accelerator
Microsoft's new cloud computing startup accelerator, the Microsoft Accelerator for Windows Azure, announced its first class Monday, powered by TechStars . Microsoft tapped Techstars to operate its new cloud software accelerator earlier this years, and just now announced ten companies who will participate in the effort in Seattle for the next three months. TechStars had announced in April that it would be running the Windows Azure accelerator for Microsoft, the second time that TechStars has handled all of the details on an accelerator program for Microsoft. TechStars also powered Microsoft's Kinect accelerator last year. Boulder-based TechStars now runs a number of startup accelerator programs, all based on the group's original Boulder incubation efforts--which have been credited with making Boulder one of the hottest startup markets in the country.
