Golden Helix Plans Free Genome Software
Bozeman, Montana-based Golden Helix, the developer of bioinformatics software and services, said it is launching a free genome browsing tool next week. The firm said its new GenomeBrowse tool allows research investigators and scientists to visualize gene sequences, allowing them to view their data in a live, 3D fashion using scrolling, panning, and real time zoom. The firm compared the new tool to current live maps on the internet compared with old, station 1.0 click-and-point map programs.
