Photobucket Revamps Photo Sharing Service

Responding to increasing competition from an ever-expanding number of photo sharing sites and services, Denver's Photobucket unveiled a brand new user interface today, updating the photo sharing site to make it easier for users to find, organize, and store their photos. Among new features, Photobucket now includes better ways to upload photos and videos from a user's PC, mobile phone, and social networking sites and edit those photos. The company also showed "Photobucket Stories", a way to organize and tell a story using photos stored on the service. Photobucket said it would debut that new Photobucket Stories feature in September, allowing user sto combine photos, video, and text to share with friends. Photobucket, which grew up in the age of MySpace as a way for people to store and share their photos on other sites, looks to be responding to the popularity of such services as Instagram, which is now owned by Facebook.
