Assurance Storage, Fujitsu Team On Appliance

Louisville, Colorado-based Assurance Storage, which develops tiered storage software, and Fujitsu Frontech North America, announced this morning that the two have shipped a new cloud storage appliance. The two said the new SAN Velocity appliance combines Assurance Storage's ApplicationSmart software with Fujitsu's server hardware. Assurance Software is a startup developing tiering and cache management software, specifically targeted at optimizing storage access on solid state and flash based storage devices. Fujitsu's new appliance uses Deneva 2 solid state drives in its appliance for boosting OLAP, OLTP, database applications, and other application performance.
