Promotus KMD Wins Grow Utah Contest
The latest winner in the series of entrepreneurial competitions being run in Utah by Grow Utah Ventures is Promotus KMD, a Salt Lake City, developer of a healthcare device, which helps facilitate range of motion and strength for knee surgery patients during rehabilitation. Grow Utah Ventures said the startup wins $21,000 in cash plus startup services. Runners up in the competition are Ripple and Veristride, who both gain $9,500 in cash and business services. Ripple is developing a prosthesis to restore eyelid motion to patients with facial paralysis, and Veristride is developing insoles which connect to a user's smartphone to monitor gait. The latest "Concept To Company" contest was focused on medical and health related startups; the competitions is only the latest in a long series of competitions which Grow Utah has been running to help spur startup and entrepreneurial activity in Utah.
