Avanquest Aims At Smartphone, Tablet Security

Denver-based Avanquest Software, which develops consumer and OEM software for the mobile market, said today that it has launched a new, security product aimed at smartphones and tablets. Avanquest said its new, cloud-based software is aimed at service providers, device manufacturers, phone retailers, and insurance program providers, and provides mobile backup, mobile transfer, mobile device location, and eventually other features like virus and malware protection--although it appears those features are not yet present in the software. Avanquest did not disclose pricing on the product. Avanquest develops software tools which are included by OEMs and manufacturers of devices.
