Alliance Health Networks Inks $11M Round

Salt Lake City-based Alliance Health Networks, which operates a network of health condition-specific, vertical social networking websites, announced today that it has raised $11M in a funding round. The round was led by New World Ventures, and also included Physic Ventures, Highway 12 Ventures, and Epic Ventures. The firm said the funding will go towards online and mobile expansion of its social networks. As part of the funding, New World's Adam Koopersmith and Physic Ventures' Andy Donner will join the company's board of directors. Allliance Health Networks operates 37 social networking sites, including its flagship, Diabetic Connect. The firm said it has over 750,000 registered members using its sites. More information »
