Overstock.com: No More Google Penalty

Salt Lake City-based Overstock.com, the e-commerce discount retailer, said today that it is no longer under penalty from search engine giant Google. Overstock had been under Google penalty since February, in response to an effort by Overstock to get .edu and other educational sites to link to its service as a bid to increase the firm's search engine rankings. In a statement, Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne said "We understand Google's position and we have made changes to remain clearly within their guidelines."
