FreeWave Technologies Wins Oklahoma Utility

Boulder=based FreeWave Technologies, the developer of spread-spectrum, licensed radio hardware for critical data transmission, said today that it has been selected by an Ohio utility for a smart grid deployment. Freewave said that OG&E serves more than 782,000 customers in Oklahoma and western Arkansas, and will use its wireless radios in the distribution automation component of a smart grid network project. Financial details of the win were not disclosed.
