Torbit Looks To Accelerate The Web
Boulder-based Torbit, a new startup founded by Josh Fraser and Jon Fox, said today that it has launched its services, which helps web sites accelerate access to their pages. Fraser was the founder of EventVue, and Fox was the founder of IntenseDebate. According to Torbit, the service automatically takes web sites and optimizes them for speed of access, by compressing scripts and web pages, utilizing CDN services, and uses other web speed optimization techniques to accelerate access to web pages and resources. The firm has not released pricing behind the service, and is in closed beta.
