Wilson Electronics Looks To Higher Cell Phone Booster Standards
St. George, Utah-based Wilson Electronics, a manufacture of cell phone signal boosters, said today that it is encouraging comments on its petition to the FCC, where it is asking the agency to raise certification standards for cell phone boosters. Wilson submitted its petition in November of last year, hoping to require additional tests and standards for cell phone signal boosters. Wilson is asking that cell phone signal boosters show better oscillation detection to prevent interference with cell towers, proximity detection to prevent cell tower signal overload, and bi-directional signal amplification. The firm said its efforts would help provide better cell phone coverage and service, and prevent disruption from unsophisticated cell phone signal boosters.
