MediConnect Global Buys PassportMD

Salt Lake City-based MediConnect Global, a provider of medical records retrieval, scanning and storage, said this morning that it has acquired PassportMD, a developer of software for creating and maintaining personal health records. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. MediConnect Global said that PassportMD is one of four vendors participating in a pilot program run by the Obama Administration to provide electronic personal health records for Medicare.
