DOE Selects Colorado State University and Partners for $5 Million Stimulus Grant

The Department of Energy has selected Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, to receive a $5 million grant. The grant, part of President Barack Obama's $2.4 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds, is for education programs on hybrid and electric vehicles. The CSU grant is expected to create 85 jobs to help meet a shortage of trained hybrid/electric technicians. The DOE proposal was co-led by CSU' Ventures Systems Solutions Group, SSG, a subsidiary of the Colorado State University Research Foundation; Cenergy, the business arm of the Clean Energy Supercluster at Colorado State; and the College of Engineering. Other Colorado participants include Arapahoe Community College and the Douglas County School District.
