Ascent Solar Taps AMAT Vet For CEO

Thornton, Colorado-based Ascent Solar Technologies, which develops thin-film solar modules, said Monday that it has named Dr. Farhad Moghadam as its President and CEO. Moghadam has served as SVP and GM at Applied Materials, including AMAT's thin films business unit. Moghadam has also served at Intel, and was most recently working with private equity firms focused on the U.S. Department of Energy loan guarantee program. Ascent said that the appointment will be effective August 3rd.
