Opengear Enhances Remote Power Management
Sandy, Utah-based Opengear, which manufactures console servers and KVM (keyboard-video-mouse) equipment used in data centers, said today that the firm has enhanced the ability to manage power in its Opengear console server. According to the firm, the new power support allows its console servers to centrally manage PDU and UPS systems. The new support allows its users to manage power devices from one console server window, and see what the status of all the remote outlets are, create alarms, and centralize automatic shut downs in case of battery backup outages.
