OpenGear Scores Major Win
Sandy, Utah-based OpenGear, a developer of remote access console servers, is reporting a major win today, saying that it has sold more than 12,000 of its SD4000 series device servers to a firm with operations in the UK and Australia. OpenGear said the hardware will be used by MaxGaming, a subsidiary of Tatts Group, for secure remote control, monitoring, and data acquisition on electronic gaming machines. Financial impact of the sale was not disclosed. OpenGear's hardware is used by IT adminsitrators and others to monitor RS232 and other serial port devices remotely from the Internet.
