Limelight Adds IPv6 Support
Tempe, Arizona-based Limelight Networks, a provider of content delivery network (CDN) services, said Monday that it has added IPv6 support to its services. IPv6, or Internet Protocol Version 6, is the next generation of Internet addressing which allows a much greater number of IP addresses on the global Internet. Hardware and service providers have been transitioning to support the new standard for a number of years. Limelight said it was one of the first CDNs to support IPv6 services; most of the Internet is currently using IPv4.
