Microchip Technology Acquires R&E International

Microcontroller and analog semiconductor manufacturer Microchip Technology announced Wednesday that it has acquired R&E International Inc. Financial terms of the deal, which Microchip said was finalized on March 31, were not disclosed. Headquartered in Norristown, Pa., R&E is a privately held developer of standard and application-specific integrated circuits for security and life-safety devices.
