Alternative Technology to Distribute Red Hat Apps

Alternative Technology Inc., a distributor of thin-client and server-based applications, revealed Tuesday that open-source giant Red Hat has tabbed Alternative with the task of supplying its leading enterprise solutions to its reseller partners. The financial impact of the distribution agreement was not disclosed. According to Alternative, the deal includes the Server and Desktop editions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, one of the industry's most popular open-source computing platforms; JBoss Enterprise Middleware Platforms, Frameworks and Developer Studio; Red Hat systems management and security management tools; and Red Hat infrastructure products, including Red Hat's Application Stack, Global File Systems and Cluster Suite. Headquartered in Englewood, Colo., Alternative Technology is a subsidiary of Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions.
