Alternative Technology Adds PlateSpin

Alternative Technology, a distributor of thin-client/server-based computing products, announced Wednesday that it has signed a value-added distribution agreement with PlateSpin Ltd., a developer of data center automation software. Under the agreement, Alternative Technology said it will promote and distribute PlateSpin's "workload portability" technology to Alternative's network of 3,000 resellers in the United States and Canada. PlateSpin is a provider of software used for managing virtualized servers, and for converting physical to virtual servers in environments such as VMware, Microsoft Virtual Server, Virtual Iron, and Xensource. PlateSpin is based in Canada. Alternative Technology is headquartered in Englewood, Colo.
