Secure64 Gets Win With Homeland Security

Greenwood Village, Colorado-based Secure64 said today that the firm has been awarded a $1.2M contract from the Department of Homeland Security, as part of a security effort by the department. According to Secure64, the government contract involves delivery of its domain name security software, DNSSEC. The software is used to ensure security of DNS servers -- the servers used to direct Web and Internet requests -- being used to manage .com, .org, and other domain name extensions. Secure64 develops a DNS server based on its own, proprietary operating system, which minimizes security holes, rootkit, malware, and other network security attacks. Hackers have been using DNS hacking as one of many ways to collect confidential data and information from unsuspecting Internet users.
