Ping Upgrades Web Services Tool
Denver, Colorado-based Ping Identity said Thursday that it has upgraded its PingFederate Web Services software. The software, which is used by web developers to create single-sign on applications, is now an add-on module for Ping's ideneity software. According to Ping Identity, the new 2.6 software adds support for OASIS WS-Trust 1.3, and support for CA SiteMinder SMSESSION tokens. OASIS WS-Trust is an industry standard being developed to ensure security between web services using SOAP communication. CA SiteMinder is a tool from software developer CA which allows for secure access to web applications. Ping has received venture backing from Appian Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Fidelity Ventures, General Catalyst Partners, I-Vent, and SAP Ventures.
