Solera Rolls API

Lindon, Utah-based Solera Networks, a provider of packet capture devices for the networking market, said earlier this week that it has rolled out two new application programming interfaces (APIs) for its products. The firm said that the new interfaces use the simple object access protocol (SOAP) and representational state transfer (REST) protocols. SOAP and REST are the most commonly used web API standards in use today. According to Solera, the availability of the API will enable independent software vendors to access and analyze network packets directly from the firm's platform. Solear's packet capture devices stream network traffic directly to storage devices, and are used for security, forensics, network management, and other applications.
