Move Networks Gets Win With Discovery
Move Networks, a developer of online video distributing software, announced Thursday that it will provide the publishing platform for Discovery Communications' new online content. Move Networks said Discovery, which operates several cable and satellite television networks including the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet, will offer online episodes of its most popular series and specials. Discovery will use Move Networks' online video player, the Move Player. Move Networks designs software which streams video, handling common Internet snags such as high latency, packet loss and congestion. Move Networks is a privately held company based in American Fork, Utah which has received venture capital from Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and Steamboat Ventures.
