Molex Buys Arizona's Polymicro Technologies

Phoenix, Arizona-based Polymicro Technologies, a manufacturer of silica capillary tubing and optical assemblies, has been acquired by Illinois-based electronic components firm Molex. Molex said late Tuesday that it acquired Polymicro, as a strategic acquisition to help the firm boost it share of the global fiber optic assemblies market. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Polymicro Technologies employes 100, and was founded in 1984. Molex said Polymicro will become a subsidiary of the firm, and be part of its Integrated Products Division.
