Spectra Logic Adds Encryption, Compression

Boulder, Colorado-based Spectra Logic said today that it has added encryption and compression features to the firm's virtual tape library product. The firm, which provides backup products, said that its Spectra T950 with RXT product now supports data compression and encryption options. The firm's virtual tape library supports LTO, SAIT, SDLT, and RXT tape formats and a capacity of up to 894TB. RXT is Spectra Logic's disk-based backup product, used by firms looking for faster backups and tape drive emulation.
