Intel, Micron Bring NAND Facility Online
Intel Corp and Micron Technology said today that the firms are have brought a NAND flash memory fabrication facility online, as part of the two firms' joint venture, IM Flash Technologies, and on track to opening the companies' Lehi, Utah facility. Intel and Micron said they have opened a 300 millimeter NAND fabrication facility in Manassas, Virginia, and that the firm's 300mm facility in Lehi is on track to be in production by early next year. The firms said they are now sampling 4 gigabit 50nm devices now with plans to produce NAND products starting next year. They also announced today that they will open a new joint venture in Singapore to add a fourth fab for their NAND flash manufacturing.
