McDATA Ships 4G Blade
Broomfield, Colorado-based storage area networking equipment provider McData has shipped a new, 4Gb/s blade for its line of storage area network switches. The SAN director provider today said that it has a new, 4 Gb/s QPM blade for its Intrepid 6140 director product. The new blade offering is a speed increase from the 2 Gb/s solutions the company previously offered. Among the features of the blade are support within its existing line of directors and control processors, without the requirement for a new chassis. The new blade also provides the new functionality in 4 port increments. McData said that its new Intrepid 6000 4 Gb/s blade will be available this quarter.
