Amedica Raises $16.8M

Salt Lake City, Utah-based Amedica Corporation has raised a $16.8M Series C funding round. The firm said this morning that Creation Capital was the sole placement agent in the financing. Amedica will use the new funding to begin the rollout of its products in the fourth quarter of 2006, along with development and expansin of its manufacturing facilities. Amedica is developing orthopedic devices based on ceramics, including devices for hip replacement surgery, knee implants, spinal disc implants, and spinal fixation. More information »
