More Waymo Self Driving Cars Without Safety Drivers In Phoenix
Waymo, the Google/Alphabet unit that has been running various tests on its self-driving vehicles in Phoenix since 2017, says that it is expanding the number of "rider-only" self driving vehicles in the city. According to Waymo's CEO, the increase in truly driverless vehicles in Phoenix has been increased since August. Waymo's fleet of self driving, white minivans cover a very well defined area within suburban Phoenix. The company began those tests with actual residents in August of 2017.
