Viasat announced this morning that it has named Dave Ryan as the head of its Space Systems business, including its operations in Tempe, Arizona. Viasat, which operates a global satellite communications constellation, runs a clean room high bay, which is used for state-of-the-art satellite payload assembly and test, in Tempe. According to Viasta, Ryan will head up satellite system design, fabrication, test and operations of its global satellite constellation. Ryan has been at Viasat since 2016, previously serving as President of Boeing Satellite Systems International and serving at Northrop Grumman. Viasat said Ryan will also lead the teams focused on satellite and launch system procurement and partnerships. Viasat is based in Carlsbad, California, and also has its satellite assembly and test facility in Tempe.
