A California-based developer of satellite and wireless technology,
ViaSat, said yesterday that it is planning a big expansion at the Arizona State University Research Park in Tempe. According to ViaSat, it is building a new, 116,000 square foot campus, including a manufacturing building and a two story office building, with initial space for 350 employees, and a Phase 2 expansion which will let the site handle more than 400 employees. ViaSat is moving its existing employees--currently in two facilities in Gilbert, Arizona--to the location. ViaSat said its operations in Arizona are focused on design and manufacturing of advanced microwave communication and radar products, radio frequency systems, and cybersecurity. The new facility is expected to open in July of 2015.
