Intel has gone solar--in a big way--using its Ocotillo, Arizona campus to show off its solar power efforts. Intel said last week that the company now has more than 3 million square feet of solar panels installed across its sites nationwide, with additional solar power projects under way in Chandler, Arizona, plus sites in India, Vietnam, and Malaysia. The solar panels--which keeps employee cars shaded from the area's 100-degree summer heat--are part of a total of 8,000 solar parking spots the company said it has installed worldwide. Intel says its solar array installations now harvest a total of 33 million kilowatt hours of green power, or the equivalent of around 3,700 U.S. homes.
