Fortem Technologies, which develops artificial intelligence-assisted, radar systems which help detect airborne objects such as drones or other aerial vehicles, has raised $15M in a series A funding. The funding was led by DCVC (Data Collective), and also included Boeing, Mubadala Investment Company, Manifest Growth, New Ground Ventures and Signia Venture Partners. Fortem is working on a compact, 1.5 pound radar system for detecting airborne objects, and says its systems are small enough to be deployed on aircraft--including UAVs, air taxis and helicopters. Fortem Technologies is led by CEO Timothy Bean.
