Denver is one of 20 cities on the list of finalists for
Amazon.com's new "HQ2", its effort to set up a second headquarters in North America. Amazon
released a list of cities which have made the final list this morning for its efforts to find another headquarters locations, as it has outgrown its site in Seattle. Amazon says the second headquarters is expected to create tens of thousands of additional jobs and tens of billions of dollars in additional investment in the surrounding community. The other cities on the list included Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Austin, Washington D.C, Raleigh, Atlanta, Miami as well as Newark, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Montgomery County, Northern Virginia, Columbus, Indianapolis, and Nashville, and Toronto, Canada. Although Denver made the list, two other big technology cities in the region hoping to get attention--Salt Lake City and Phoenix--did not make Amazon's new finalist list.
