Yieldex, a provider of online advertising tools with operations in Boulder, Colorado, has been named the winner of the Amazon Web Services Start-up Challenge, garnering the firm $100,000 in cash and credits, plus an investment offer from Amazon.com. Amazon, which announced the winner Thursday, said that Yieldex won over seven finalist in the challenge, which pitted companies which used Amazon's Web Services to scale out their businesses. Yieldex uses Amazon's EC2 and S3 services for its service, which helps online publishers maximize their advertising revenue. Yieldex is funded by First Round Capital, Sequel Venture Partners, and Woodside Fund. The firm also has offices in San Mateo, California and New York.
