VIOME, With Team In NM And Tech From LANL, Raises $15M In Funding
VIOME, a startup which says it is using artificial intelligence combined with health testing and diagnostics to provide people with insights into their personal health--which has tapped technology developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory as the core of its offerings--has raised $15M in funding, the company said on Wednesday. The startup said the Series A funding was led by Khosla Ventures, and also included Bold Capital Partners. VIOME said it is using advanced transcriptome technology which was licensed from Los Alamos National Laboratory, which allows for rapid identification of micro-organisms and their metabolic activities. The company said it is based in Cupertino, California, and also has employees in Los Alamos and New York.
