Vector Space Systems has raised more than $1M in angel funding, the company said this morning, to launch a new company focused on micro satellite space launches. The startup--led by former executives from SpaceX--said the funding came from such investors as Shaun Coleman (CloudVolumes, Reconnex), Matt Conover (CloudVolumes/VMware), and Nick Karangelan (Trident Systems). The company's founding team includes Jim Cantrell (former VP of Business Development, SpaceX), John Garvey (SpaceX), Ken Sunshine (Virgin Galactic, Moon Express, Orbital Science), and Eric Besnard (NASA, Air Force).
