Vivint Solar Cancels $2.2 Billion Acquisition By SunEdison
Salt Lake City-based Vivint Solar has cancelled a deal to be acquired by SunEdison for $2.2 billion, accusing SunEdison of breach of contract after SunEdison said it would be unable to close on the acquisition deal. In a regulatory filing, Vivint Solar said that SunEdison failed to deliver information on financing of the acquisition in February, which triggered its termination rights. The two originally announced the deal on July 20th of last year.
