DigitalGlobe Launches Small Satellite Joint Venture With Saudi Arabia

DigitalGlobe
has launched a new, small satellite joint venture with the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
, the company said over the weekend. DigitalGlobe said its new joint venture, with TAQNIA and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), will focus on developing a constellation of small imaging satellites with anticipated 80cm resolution. Financial details of the joint venture were not announced. 50% of the capacity of the satellites will be owned by KACST, the other fifty percent by DigitalGlobe.
