Ascent Solar Tackles iPhone Market With New Case
Thornton, Colorado-based solar products maker Ascent Solar is tackling the iPhone accessory market with a new product, which combines its thin film, flexible photovoltaic modules with a protective case for the iPhone 6. Ascent Solar rolled out the new case at CES this week. Ascent Solar said its new Surfr Battery and Solar case for the iPhone 6 provides a 2700 mAh lithium polymer battery and a photovoltaic panel to help charge that battery. The battery can be charged using a micro-USB port. Ascent Solar has branched out significantly since its start as a developer of thin film photovoltaic modules, with a big focus on consumer products incorporating its technology directly.
