Thoronton, Coloraod-based
Ascent Solar, the publicly held developer of flexible, thin-film solar modules, said today that it has received a purchase order for 50,000 units of its newly announced EnerPlex solar charger. Name of the customer, and financial details of the order were not announced by the company. The charger, which is aimed at the Apple iPhone market, was announced earlier this month. The firm said it expects to launch the products in August through the channel in Asia. Ascent Solar announced its move into the retail products market last week; prior to that, the firm had been licensing its technology to various building products manufacturers and others seeking thin film solar technology.
