Zayo Buys Kansas Network Operator
Boulder-based Zayo Group is continuing to build out its fiber infrastructure through acquisition deals, saying this morning that it has acquired the carrier and enterprise segment--and network--of Kansas-based IdeaTek Systems. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Zayo said the buy will add 1,800 route miles to its network in Kansas, which overs 600 cellular towers and over 100 additional buildings. IdeaTek will retain its residential and small commercial divisions, operating as IdeaTek Telecom. Zayo said it funded the purchase with cash on hand.
