Sanborn Launches 3-D Building Store
Need a 3D model of all of the buildings in downtown Denver? Colorado Springs-based Sanborn Map Company said today that it has started to make its collection of digital, 3-D building data -- covering many major cities in the U.S.--to users via an online site. Sanborn said its 3-D building data includes more than 262,000 buildings in 49 key U.S. metropolitan areas, and features accurate location and height information and other information. The company said it is looking to enable applications in the areas of real estate, insurance and urban planning.
