Virgin Galactic Taps Partners For Local Hotel, Catering
Virgin Galactic, the commercial space tourism company backed by Sir Richard Branson, is ramping up its efforts in New Mexico, saying yesterday that it has tapped two local New Mexico businesses as its official hotel and catering partners. Virgin Galactic said it has selected Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces and World Class Gourmet, who will serve its future astronauts who will be traveling from its Spaceport America facility in the state to space. Virgin Galactic said the move comes as it is bolstering staffing in the state, and will be hiring locally as it ramps up its operations at Spaceport America. Virgin Galactic has been testing its vehicles and has been working through FAA approvals for its facility and operations.
