Delta Air Lines is connecting Boise, Idaho, with the growing startup center of "Silicon Beach", the airline said Monday, with a new, daily nonstop service between Boise and Los Angeles, California. According to Delta, it will begin running daily nonstop service between Boise Airport and LAX, with two flights daily, one in the early morning, the other in the evening. The flights will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Compass Airlines using 76-seat CRJ-900 aircraft. The Los Angeles area is home to a growing community of technology companies and startups, which have been calling the area "Silicon Beach". Boise itself has a small--but growing--number of high tech companies, ranging from semiconductor giant Micron to small startups like Clickbank, Balihoo, and Silverback Learning. Flights between LAX and Boise on Delta previously required an additional connection and plane change at Delta's hub in Salt Lake City International.
