The
Walt Disney Company said Thursday that it is cutting 700 jobs at its Disney Interactive division, which runs Disney's online websites, social games, mobile games, and other related digital properties--including an unspecified number of jobs in Colorado. No details on how many jobs were affected at Disney Interactive's local Colorado division. Disney Interactive has a presence in Boulder, due to the 2009 acquisition of Kerpoof Studios, which became part of Disney Interactive Media Group. Kerpoof had developed web software which was used by Disney on its site, allowing kids to produce interactive stories and create pictures and other content.
